For many years I have been intrigued with the thought of having a home-based, internet-based business. You know the kind I am talking about. The kind of business where you wake up, brush your teeth, stumble into the kitchen and put on a pot of coffee. You go upstairs to your home-office. Sitting there in your pajamas you bow your head and thank God for His many blessings. You turn on the TV to watch the morning news and turn on the PC to check your emails.

Everything is up and running so you head back downstairs grab a cup of wake-up java then back upstairs to the office. Note that you have already completed your days exercise in the stairs, but there will be much more stairway cardio throughout the morning. Now you go to work. Log on to the back office of your business. Check for messages. Check for growth. Send some emails.

Rain…!

If you pray long enough and have enough patience your prayers will be answered. I would be willing to bet that more than the majority of people in South Texas have been praying for rain, even the non-believers are praying in their non-believing ways. Well we finally got a little rain two evenings ago. The lightening was flashing the skies were rumbling and the rain fell. I got about 1/4″ welcome inch on my little bit of land. It was more than welcomed and I can assure you that I will continue to pray for more rain.

I will be praying for a rain of another kind as well. I am praying for some spiritual rain to fall on me, my family, and my community. Lord we all need your anointed rain. We need change Lord and I ask that you begin with me. Change me and then use me Lord. In Jesus’ name..Amen.

This heat…!

What is going on with all of this heat? We have had near 30 days of record breaking heat in the worse drought in a half-century. What is up with that?

Our lake reservoirs are dangerously low. In mid-September, two nearby towns will be unable to suck water out of the lake to supply their needs..their suctions won’t be able to reach the water. What is up with that?

We need rain and we need a lot of it. I honestly don’t remember ever seeing a summer like this in my life. I spent an hour the other evening watering a small area in my yard expecting to see something similar to green growth the next day. What I did see was nothing! Nada, no green growth at all. Everything is dead..root dead.

Our lakes are drying up. Our neighboring cities are threatened with no water. Our soil is dry beyond normal.

Lord…We need rain and we need a lot of it. We need spiritual rain Lord. We need a lot of spiritual rain so that we will learn to give You the glory that is due to You. When we worship You we receive.

Lord…We need rain and we need a lot of it!

It’s Sunday

Just a quick note before I take off to Corpus. I sat here all morning watching my favorite TV preachers as my grandmother would say. I thank God for Ed Young, Jr., James Merritt, Jentezen Franklin, and David Jeremiah. It seems that the messages they share are meant directly for me. They are and they are meant for the rest of the hurting world as well. We have much to be thankful for even in these tough times.

James Merritt made a comment this morning that we all need to remember…The presence of problems does no mean the absence of God.

I just finished making sausage and pancakes for my youngest sons and one of my grandsons. I was grumbling and groaning as I was washing the dishes afterward when it dawned on me just how blessed I really am. I need to stop complaining and start thanking. I (we) need to be thankful for all things at all times.

Well I have seen them all over the web and it seems that everyone is doing it. I even tried starting a few others in the past but I never stay with it. So with all that I am going to try it yet one more time. What am I talking about?…Blogging!

My wife who by the way has the computer literacy of a 3 year old (sorry babe but it’s true) asked me what a blog was and why. Good question, but I guess it is simply a place to share thoughts and opinions with the world. You will get plenty of that from me because in all my years I have developed attitude combined with many opinionated thoughts.
